Archétypes et paradoxes des nouveaux instruments

1999

Les nouveaux gestes de la musique. Marseille: Parenthèses: 121-138.

The author searches for constants amongst the numerous instruments in electroacoustic studios that permit the composers to control them. He develops his theory of instrumental archetypes: the twentieth century’s instruments are based on two models, the voice and percussion. Then he analyses what a good electroacoustic instrument comprises and why we need to create new instruments.
