The French composer, Jean-Claude Risset presents his mixed works as a dialogue between acoustic and invisible instruments. Thus his piece Duo pour un pianiste contains a virtual pianist realised by a computer in real-time. Dialogue, Inharmonique and Invisible use synthesis techniques to add virtual sounds (via tape) to the performing musicians. To conclude, the author compares his musical methods to other composers: John Chowning (Phoné) and Hugues Dufourt (La tempête, d’après Giogione).
