In this series of articles Xenakis presents a comprehensive introduction in terms of the mathematical and physical foundations of the concept of stochastic music which is relevant both to music analysis and composition. Using laws of mathematics and of logic, from probability theory to developments related to modern physics, Xenakis presents his theory of the construction and effect of sonorous processes both in word and in graphic form.
